A Timeless and Traditional Wedding at Christ Our King Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina
Aimee (29 and a speech-language pathologist) and Neal (28 and a senior technical writer) met through a mutual friend in Charleston, South Carolina, where they were introduced on a group outing downtown. They kept in contact for several months while Aimee lived in North Carolina until she came back for a Christmas visit and they cemented their feelings for one another. A year later, Aimee finally made the move to Charleston and not too long after that, Neal proposed on the Pitt Street Bridge in Mount Pleasant. He pulled out a box of old movie stubs, pictures, and other memorabilia from there relationship, which he used to develop a timeline that he drew in chalk across the bridge. "She happily collected the items I had placed on the path, but didn't realize there was something else absolutely burning a hole in my pocket," Neal recounts. When they reached the present date on the timeline, Neal got down on one knee and asked for a lifetime of memories together. They got married at their local church, Christ Our King Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, and held an elegant reception at Marion's in the French Quarter in Charleston. Their traditional ceremony had a color scheme of navy and pewter gray and featured simple romantic details like a white ruffled wedding cake, a rickshaw for exit transportation, and Palmetto rose guest favors (unique woven roses made from South Carolina's state tree). From top to bottom, every detail of Aimee and Neal's wedding was polished and timeless.
