A Sweet, Organic Wedding at the John James Audubon Center in Audubon, Pennsylvania
Lyndsay Wood (26 and a research chemist) and Dan Leal (26 and a beverage manager) have talked every day since they met towards the end of college. Their relationship progressed quickly, and Dan moved to Philadelphia with Lyndsay when she started graduate school. On their third anniversary, Dan took Lyndsay out to brunch at La Croix in Rittenhouse. He then took her to Longwood Gardens, where he proposed in the Rose Garden. Worried about that unpredictable Pennsylvanian weather, the couple decided to look for venues with equally beautiful indoor and outdoor options in the Philadelphia area in case of rain. They decided the John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove in Audubon, Pennsylvania was the perfect fit because of its beautiful open-air pavilion and pretty barn. It was fortuitous they had the foresight to plan for rain, because rain it did on their wedding day. Lyndsay and Dan's lovely, organic wedding was colored by soft tones of pink, peach and yellow with navy blue and black. They kept their floral designs simple, with pretty pink and peach zinnias paired with white flowers like Queen Anne's lace and baby's breath and lush greens in ivy and veronica. The ceremony was held in the barn, and the reception was held in the open-air pavilion after the rain stopped. Fun details included leaves that served as the guest book, photo frame and book decor and homemade soap and wildflower seeds for wedding favors. Despite the rain, Lyndsay and Dan's wedding was sweet and memorable.
