A Sweet and Chic Wedding at the Mendakota Country Club in Mendota Heights, Minnesota

Shortly after meeting Seth (29 and in sales) for the first time at a Target, Lisa (31 and in visual merchandising) found herself in an uncomfortable situation. "I was with my niece and ended up meeting him near the check out lanes," she explains. "But you know how kids like to stand behind you and swing back and forth while holding your legs? Well, just after Seth and I shook hands, my niece decided to swing on my legs and I fell flat on my butt. Embarrassing, right?" After a good laugh, the two ended up dating and later got engaged at Chicago's Navy Pier. "It was on a freezing cold day and I started walking toward the doors to go inside and get warm," Lisa says. "He told me to stop, so I turned around and there he was on one knee." For their special day, the two planned a ceremony and reception for 175 guests at the Mendakota Country Club in Mendota Heights. "We chose the location because you could see the water on the golf course from the main ballroom," Lisa says. "We both love the water and wanted something that was reminiscent of that." Inspired by their mutual love of all things vintage, the couple decorated using purple accents and sweet DIY details -- like handmade escort cards that Lisa created herself. "Seth and I love antiquing together, so our wedding style was inspired by our love for all things antique," Lisa explains. "And since I have a serious love for snail mail, writing out all of the envelopes and escort cards was really important to me." As far as wedding advice goes? "Whatever didn't get done, just forget about it! The day goes by so fast, so just take it in and feel the love."
