A Surprise Backyard Wedding at a Private Residence in Dunmore, Pennsylvania

An alfresco engagement party quickly turned into a surprise wedding for Tori Senofonte (28 and a bridal shop owner and floral designer) and Adam Donahue (29 and a real estate developer), who shocked 30 guests by becoming Mr. and Mrs. in the backyard of their Dunmore home. “We casually greeted all of our guests and explained what was going on,” Tori says. “Once everyone was seated, we took our places at an arch with our city mayor and exchanged our vows.” Ceramic compotes displayed muted clusters of dahlias, ranunculus, tulips and carnations. Tori designed the tablescape herself, opting for gold flatware, mercury glass votives, brass candlesticks and a refined palette of caramel, champagne and mauve. The couple’s mothers joined forces to cater the intimate Italian dinner, and the occasion called for sweet slices of vanilla cake filled with fresh berries and chocolate ganache.
