The Bride: Nina Abraham, 35, Dermatologist, Ringpfeil Advanced Dermatology, Haverford PA The Groom: Michael Marino, 32, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation physician, Moss Rehab, Elkins Park PA The Wedding Date: 5/7/2011 Nina and Michael were both internal medicine interns at Hahnemann University University Hospital. They met at a work happy hour and ignored all their other co-workers. We then spent a memorable overnight call working the same shift. There wasn’t any Gray’s Anatomy type of scandalous activity, Michael says, but we did spend every free moment together watching bad movies at all hours of the night in the residents lounge. Soon after, Nina and Michael went to a haunted house and the couple realized they shared a love for scary movies too so they went to dinner and watched a scary flick and their love solidified.

Nina's dad surprised the couple with a huge light display projected onto the wall that read, Bang Boom Pow as we exited the ceremony and walked up the stairs. It was a nice way to incorporate the invitation into the wedding and add to the excitement of starting the party.

The foundation of the chupah was white birch and covered with Michael's father's tallus and an incredible flower arrangement designed my Evantine. The rows of guest seats were enclosed by green shrubs on the perimeter which made a sterile space feel very warm and intimate.
Nina had 7 bridesmaids total. She wanted their dresses to reflect their individual personalities so she gave them a color palette to work from including jewel tones: pink, purple, blue, green, and asked that the dresses be T-length or knee-length.
The couple handed out water with personalized labels with superboy and supergirl on one side and happily every after on the other.
The tables clothes, napkins and chairs were variations of pink and green and had a very modern look.
Carnivale played at Nina and Michael's wedding. I didn't give them any music suggestions, Michael said. Just asked that they keep people dancing and they did. They played a variety of popular music that all ages enjoyed dancing to.

The couple wanted their invitations to be unique, interactive and fun so they met with designer friend, Jessica Koffman, to brainstorm and decided to make a very short choose your own adventure story. The story was of 2 superheros, superboy & supergirl, that had everything in the world they ever wanted except for a sidekick. Of course the superheros meet and plan to marry. At the end of story and booklet, the guests get to choose if they would like to attend the wedding or not.
