A Sunny Beach Wedding in Dania Beach and Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Stephanie, a renewals specialist at a law firm, 25, and Louis, a patent attorney, 34, chose family and the Florida beaches as the focal point of their wedding. Already having law, the University of Florida and a fondness for dogs in common, the couple met while at work. They were engaged on Stephanie's birthday about two years later and married after just nine months. A beach wedding brings the concern of unpredictable weather, but Louis found a solution. They chose cornflower and canary as their wedding colors because Louis said the colors would bring “sunshine and blue skies on our wedding day even if the weather didn't cooperate.” They had a beach wedding at John U. Lloyd Beach State Park in Dania Beach, Florida, as it was named after Stephanie's grandfather. She is the first in her family to be married at the site. The wedding then moved to the luxurious Ritz Carlton in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Each table was decorated with Stephanie's DIY fishbowl centerpieces filled with Floridian beach accents. The night was made even more memorable by the fact that Louis, Stephanie and their friends were University of Florida alumni. The guests brought a UF banner to the reception and posed for pictures before dancing to a few Gator favorite songs.
