A Sunflower Wedding at Harding Farm in Clinton, New York
College sweethearts Reagan Sayles (29 and a physical therapist) and Dan Carroll (29 and a law student) exchanged vows in front of 120 guests in Clinton, New York. The couple first met at Hamilton College on the bride’s twenty-first birthday and began dating a year later after running into each other again at a party. After dating for several years, Dan surprised Reagan by proposing with an heirloom ring at one of their favorite spots in Washington, D.C. The couple decided to return to their alma mater where they first met for their special day and chose The Chapel at Hamilton College as their ceremony venue followed by an outdoor tented reception at the nearby Harding Farm. They chose a palette of navy blue and sunflowers, the bride’s favorite flower, for their wedding look. “I'd say it incorporated some rustic elements and then just lots of little details to really feel like ‘us,’ she says. Following the ceremony, guests attended a cocktail hour with appetizers like crab cakes and bacon pineapple shrimp skewers. A dinner of sea bass, filet and mushroom risotto followed at the reception. Dan and Reagan made sure to incorporate many personal touches into the celebration, including being married by a friend of the groom and spending many hours before the wedding picking out the perfect playlist. “We heard from family and friends that the whole day really reflected us together as a couple,” they say.
