A Stylish, Glamorous Black-Tie Wedding at the Gramercy at Lakeside Manor in Hazlet, New Jersey
Shaquana “Shaq” Williams (29 and a CPA and owner of BrideHive) and Andrew Robotham (32 and an engineer) outfitted their glam black-tie nuptials in a black-and-white color scheme with mirrored accents. Rounded arrangements of white hydrangeas atop tall, fluted, black vases decorated the long, mirrored tables at the couple’s reception while the towering wedding cake was displayed on a swing dripping with crystals and white hydrangeas and orchids. “It’s safe to say I was completely obsessed with mirrors and candles,” Shaq says of their design choices. “The florals represented our lifestyle: pure, lively and classic,” she says of her all-white bouquet. The bride made sure the fashion choices were consistently glamorous, too. “After trying on more than 50 gowns, I decided that my ultimate dream dress was impossible to find in a wedding salon,” Shaq says. She worked with Jean-Ralph Thurin to create her mermaid-style dress with a deep-cut sweetheart neckline, nude illusion underlay and embroidery. A bespoke cathedral-length veil added an extra dose of drama to Shaq’s fashion-forward look. After the ceremony, Shaq changed into a beaded white jumpsuit with a removable tulle skirt. Andrew, in a white dinner jacket, and her bridesmaids in white gowns were equally as sophisticated, before they put on their "BrideHive" jerseys and performed a choreographed Beyonce-inspired dance at the reception. At their seats, guests found their favors: miniature black matte bottles of champagne embellished with the couple’s custom wedding monogram. The bride and groom also sent guests home with personalized drink stirrers, which they felt confident wouldn’t go to waste.
