A Stylish, Eclectic Wedding at Hotel Emma in San Antonio, Texas
Lesli Eagles (27) and Greg Augsburger (31 and a geologist) reserved San Antonio’s Hotel Emma, a former 19th-century brewhouse, for their fall wedding. “We loved the history and architecture of the building,” Lesli says. The hotel’s breezy courtyard served as an idyllic ceremony site, where shades of green, burgundy and champagne played up the overgrown room. Greg’s bespoke forest-green suit coordinated with Lesli’s vintage emerald earrings. Trailing vines, eucalyptus garlands and candlelight softened the industrial look of the hotel’s Elephant Cellar. “I wanted interesting flowers,” Leslie says. Case in point: she carried an eye-catching bouquet of ferns, ranunculus and a single king protea. At the reception, hotel postcards doubled as escort cards and custom dessert signs. Guests ate fan-favorite classics like pasta and steak, followed by slices of a vanilla-chocolate-chip cake. “We wanted an approachable dinner with a little Texas flair,” Lesli says. Pampered partygoers brought home practical favors in the form of small packages of locally made soap and hand cream.
