A Stately Southern Wedding at Whitehall Estate in Bluemont, Virginia
Taylor Kampa (27 and a photographer and a painter) and Bryan Olson (27 and a lawyer) said “I do” at the stately Whitehall Estate in rural Bluemont, Virginia. “We decided to stay local since we are both from Great Falls, Virginia,” Taylor says. “We wanted all our friends and family to be able to make it, since almost everyone lives in the DC metro area. We picked Whitehall Estate because it checked off everything on our list and was absolutely stunning.” Wanting a simple yet elegant affair, the couple chose a timeless white, navy and gold palette with glitzy accents and lush neutral-colored floral arrangements. Taylor, a talented graphic designer, created the navy and white stationery suite, which set the tone for their sophisticated soiree. Taylor and Bryan exchanged vows during a short but sweet ceremony on Whitehall Estate’s lush lawn. The couple shared their first kiss as husband and wife under trees and an arbor draped with garlands and florals. Cocktail hour followed on the estate’s veranda, with personalized cocktails like the Bry-Tai (a riff on the tropical mai tai) and the TK-Tini (a refreshing vodka, cucumber and and citrus drink). Dinner and dancing took place in the mansion’s ballroom. The eight-piece band Ignition kept the party going all night. “They were amazing, playing popular music mixed with some classics to get everyone dancing,” Taylor says. —Marissa Hermanson
