A Star Wars-Inspired Wedding at the Flower Farm Inn in Loomis, California

Salina Soto and Alex Hauser met in college while studying Computer Science for Game Development and eventually had their first date at the AFK Gamer Lounge in San Jose, California. "It was really fitting for our nerdy side," Salina says. "We had our first kiss after we finished playing World of Warcraft." Once engaged, the couple landed on a Star Wars-inspired wedding without much hesitation, adding rustic touches and lush greenery to mirror the secluded galaxy of Endor. "We had fairy lights lighting up the porch, and Star Wars props scattered everywhere around the venue for guests to stumble upon and find," Salina says. The pair even dressed in accessories that celebrated the saga. Salina wore a cape, and Alex paired themed cufflinks from his dad with matching socks. After an outdoor ceremony that Salina's grandfather officiated dressed as Obi-Wan Kenobi, guests headed to cocktail hour to sip drinks to the sounds of Star Wars and World of Warcraft soundtracks. At the reception, Darth Vader and Stormtrooper helmets topped tables, and the pair hired "party crashers" dressed as Darth Vader, a Stormtrooper and Chewbacca to perform for guests alongside an interactive BB-8 droid. The night ended in the only way it could: with light sabers in hand.

Our favorite #MakeTradition moment: "We decided to do a sand ceremony," Salina says. "We loved the idea of choosing colors based on our individual personalities and how mixing them together illustrated actually mixing ourselves as whole. It was really beautiful."
