For their St. Patrick’s Day wedding, Elizabeth (Lizzie) and Scott honored their Irish heritages. The ceremony on the front porch of Lizzie’s childhood home included two versions of the Irish Blessing, one recited and one sung, while the bride wore a Claddagh ring, a Celtic symbol of love. Shades of green, ivory and gold wove throughout the backyard celebration, where guests drank champagne from Waterford crystal flutes and savored Irish soda bread made from Lizzie’s grandmother’s recipe. A friend designed the engraved invitations, which were mailed with custom stamps. Lizzie carried peonies, garden roses, jasmine, lilacs and hellebores. Gold chargers and lamps gave tables, topped with hydrangeas, peonies, roses, smilax and jasmine, a warm glow. Peonies and roses ran down the white-chocolate cake with raspberry-mousse filling and vanilla buttercream. The couple also served Irish desserts like Baileys chocolate mousse and raisin bread pudding shooters.
Smilax hung over the head table, where guests dined on Irish flag salad, grilled beef tenderloin, bourbon-glazed salmon and whipped Irish potatoes. Late-night snacks included mini shepard’s pies.  Lizzie and Scott drove off in a 1935 Ford Sedan. “A good family friend dressed up as a leprechaun and led us out to our getaway car,” Lizzie says.
