A Spring Wedding at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan

College classmates Fangwei Gu and Ling Huang (both 28 and Ph. D. students) met in their hometown of Shanghai after a night of karaoke, only to begin dating three years later. When Fangwei was accepted to the University of Michigan's graduate program, he quickly moved overseas only to have his wife quit and follow suit two years later. "I proposed during our visit back home in Shanghai," he explains. We invited some friends to watch a movie, but she didn't know that I had secretly taped a proposal film. I asked the staff in the theater to play my movie at the end, and she said yes." While the newlyweds officially tied the knot in a western-style wedding back home in Shanghai, the two wanted their wedding photos to reflect their love of Michigan's Ann Arbor campus. As for wedding advice, Fangwei says, "Take time to enjoy the wedding. It's the most special day of your life."
