A Spring Wedding at Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Florida

About three years after Melissa Register (35 and an attorney) and Michael Kulasingham (45 and a physician) met through their parents on Christmas day, he popped the question and gave her a round-cut diamond ring. Over the next year, Melissa and Michael worked with White Blossom Weddings and Events to plan a plum, lilac, cream and silver-accented wedding in Palm Coast, Florida. “As my father is a native Floridian, we chose the Southern theme in part to honor his roots,” says Melissa. The couple chose Hammock Beach Resort as their venue for its variety of spaces and activities. “Since many of our friends and family would be traveling no matter where we had the wedding, we decided to make it a fun destination weekend for all,” says Melissa. The outdoor ceremony was decorated with simple white folding chairs and a custom wedding arch accented with white roses. After Melissa and Michael exchanged vows, the couple’s 100 moved closer to the resort for an outdoor cocktail hour. Inside the reception, round tables were met with neutral linens, dark chiavari chairs, candles in gold votives and purple rose accented floral centerpieces at varying heights. Complementing their theme, the couple served a dinner of fried chicken, shrimp and grits and beef tenderloin before treating their guests to eight flavors of pies and cakes, as well as a three-tier white wedding cake adorned with purple roses. “I wanted the dessert table to feel like a Southern bake sale,” says Melissa. Each guest left the reception with a few more confections as the couple gave out personalized boxes of sweets as their wedding favors.
