A Southwest-Inspired Rustic Wedding at Lone Hawk Farm in Longmont, Colorado
Native to New Mexico, Erin Ford (28 and a preschool teacher) and Ethan Gallegos (27 and a manager at Trader Joe's) had their wedding at Lone Hawk Farm in Longmont, Colorado, with Southwestern details incorporated into the landscaping and environment. "We were sold when we found out that one of the owners was from New Mexico and had incorporated some cultural stylistic elements throughout the farm," Erin says. "We were also drawn to the idea of a farm wedding because we wanted it to be casual, comfortable and beautiful." They used a palette of gray, yellow and turquoise to reflect their love of the Southwest—decorating everything from the DIY paper origami birds hanging from the wooden wedding arch to the paper flowers and fabric flowers that decorated dining tables. Erin held a bridal bouquet by Boulder Blooms Florist that was arranged with green succulents, craspedia and scabiosa pods, which Ethan complemented with his single craspedia boutonniere. Erin and Ethan placed food as a priority—from what we noticed, specifically dessert—with a full ice cream bar and a pastry assortment catered by Voodoo Doughnuts, including male and female large robot doughnuts captured by Megan Alvarez Photography. We loved Erin's one-of-a-kind Edwardian-era dress that was more than 100 years old. The white lace tea dress was paired with her grandmother's pearl necklace to complete the vintage look. "I found my wedding dress in a box of clothes my mother had given me when my parents moved a year earlier," Erin says. "As soon as I saw it, I knew it would be perfect for the wedding."
