A Southern-Styled, Sunflower Wedding at the Woolverton Inn in Stockton, New Jersey

From the wedding arch to the natural bouquets, Caitlin Githens (32 and a horse trainer) and Sean Beattie’s (29 and a benefits administrator) bright, Southern-styled wedding is filled with sunflowers and personal antique accents. Christina Lilly Photography captured every moment as the couple started their day with a sweet outdoor ceremony at the Woolverton Inn in Stockton, New Jersey. Mark Bryan Designs, the couple’s florist, covered their white wedding arch with lush green garland, yellow roses and sunflowers as each of their five flower girls lined the aisle with white flower petals. Caitlin entered the ceremony in an ethereal lace wedding dress by Claire Pettibone as her family’s heirloom ivory lace veil covered her down hairstyle. Sean waited by the altar in a neutral suit and bright blue bow tie. After the couple shared their first kiss, they stopped by the venue’s sheep farm for a few pictures while their guests continued the party with a tented reception. Playful sheep-accented escort cards pointed friends and family members to family-style tables as tablescapes of sunflowers and greenery were set over white lace. Each detail added a personal touch to their day. “Some of the lace and milk glass had been in my family while others were donated by friends or bought at antiques stores,” Caitlin says. All were treated to a slice of vanilla wedding cake or chocolate groom’s cake before ending the night making s'mores around a fire pit. Caitlin shares a few tips: “Sleep well the night before the wedding. Remember your wedding party is there to help, and don't forget to take every moment you can to enjoy the day.”
