A Southern Fall Wedding at Paniolo Ranch in Boerne, Texas
A leaf-strewn aisle and antler motif lent an autumnal aesthetic to Carly Seymour (28 and a student) and Adam Richards’s (34 and a general contractor) fall nuptials, but it was their use of Halloween costumes that made for an unforgettable affair. “We brought out a chest filled with masquerade masks and feather boas once everyone started dancing,” Carly says of distributing sheriff badges and cowboy hats to revelers. “We usually throw a Halloween party every year, but we had to celebrate early because the holiday fell on our honeymoon.” Guests took in views of scenic Hill Country from their seats on stone benches. “The biggest surprise of the night was when my dad stood up to give a ‘brief’ speech that turned into him announcing that he wrote a song for me,” Carly says. Not only had the band already learned the tune, but the bride’s father revealed he had written an entire album before passing out CDs to guests. A friend talked a security guard into handcuffing Carly and Adam to each other moments before the newlyweds exited their reception through a tunnel of sparklers. “It made for some hilarious photos,” Carly says. After the sendoff, guests piled into the bed of Adam’s truck and retired to their cabins.
