A Sophisticated Prep School Wedding at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Connecticut

Katerina (27 and a researcher) and Mohammad (32 and a physician) met while attending graduate school at the Harvard School of Public Health. During a spontaneous fire drill, Katerina and Mohammad struck up a conversation. At the end of the conversation, Mohammad introduced himself, and Katerina explained that she was terrible with names and needed to be reminded two or three times to commit it to memory. Seizing the opportunity, Mohammad shook her hand and reintroduced himself twice more. Katerina says, "Needless to say, it worked. I remembered his name!" Invariably, they were engaged just six months later and married four years after at Katerina's old prep school, Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Connecticut. With only one date available, Katerina ended up getting married on her parents' 40th anniversary, and says, "I decided that was a sign it was meant to be." They threw a lavish formal affair incorporating elements from both his Middle Eastern heritage (both Arabic and Kuwait henna, for example) and her Italian heritage (including an Italian soda bar).
