A Sophisticated Grotto Wedding at Rayavadee in Krabi, Thailand
Drawing inspiration from a Dolce & Gabbana runway show in Capri, Italy, Jenn Pablo and Paco de Leon planned a sophisticated waterfront soiree in a grotto in Thailand.
Every element of the décor was thoughtful and elegantly understated. To let the organic setting shine through, the couple opted for a palette of soft, neutral hues and looked to tropical foliage arranged in sleek concrete and stone vesssels to offer a hint of vibrancy to the dining tables.
The pair exchanged vows under a simple bamboo archway decorated with a palm leaf design and a carpet of small white orchids surrounding their feet. As guests arrived to the ceremony, they were greeted with fresh coconuts and handmade palm leaf fans. “Since we had such a small, intimate group of friends and family, we were able to be more creative with the seating arrangement,” Paco says. “Instead of a typical aisle, we placed our guests in a half-moon shape to surround us as we both walked down the side together.”
Dinner also took place in the grotto. Tables were placed in a U-shape to create an cozy vibe. Palm arrangements and ceramic dinnerware complemented the organic feel of the venue, and brightly lit pillar candles cast a warm glow over the space. “Our goal was to allow the natural beauty around us to be an integral part of the day and night,” Paco says.
