A Sophisticated Forest Wedding at Island Farm in San Gregorio, California
Tina Drake and BJ Thompson’s whimsical woodland wedding was jam-packed with polished bohemian appeal. From the floral arrangements filled with textured greenery and blush blooms to the slate signage and the string lights that glowed softly over the forest floor, every detail reflected the earthy essence of the setting. The festivities took place at The Island Farm in Gregorio, California, a private estate nestled in the middle of a redwood forest.
The couple gathered their guests at the forest’s edge for a personalized ceremony officiated by a close family member. The pair incorporated a number of traditional Filipino elements into the celebration, such as the veil and cord ceremonies to symbolize the infinite bond of their love. The couple kept the décor simple to allow the natural beauty of the woodland setting shine through, adding just a few potted plants to the base and entrance of the aisle.
After the “I dos,” the newlyweds and their guests headed deep into the forest for dinner and dancing. Long farm tables paired with Provençal cross-back chairs dotted the forest floor, with bundles of cascading flora laced with seasonal fruit lending a touch of freshness to the tablescapes.
As a nod to their proposal (BJ mapped out “Marry Me” in the stars using a constellation app), a loose night sky theme was woven throughout, with a constellation motif making an appearance on the signage and paper elements.
