A Sophisticated, Elegant Wedding at Ashton Gardens in Dallas, Texas

Kelli Dawkins (34 and a sales professional, left) and Nichole Benson (39 and a sales professional) combined classic elegance with contemporary flair at their Dallas, Texas, wedding. Ashton Gardens was the only venue they considered: Settled in a serene grove of trees, the breathtaking glass-enclosed chapel and sophisticated ballroom were too pretty to overlook. Kelli and Nichole’s wedding day began with an afternoon ceremony, where their favorite poet recited a heartfelt story that recounted their relationship, from the day they met until their wedding day. After they danced out to “Best of Me” by Anthony Hamilton, they walked along a trellised path to their reception. A crisp palette of ivory and gold with touches of mint created a chic aesthetic, which they accented with DIY centerpieces of ivory roses, tall glass vases and crystals. Their wedding cake, by Elena’s Cake, stood out as the focal point: It had four tiers covered in pale mint icing, gold touches and ivory sugar flowers. The biggest surprise of the day came at the end, as Kelli and Nichole were making their grand exit. Nichole tells us: “For the past five years, Kelli has begged me to take her on a horse and carriage ride, not knowing that I was saving it for this perfect day.” According to Kelli, “It was an absolutely perfect way to end such a beautiful day.” See the pretty details, captured by Fairy Tale Photography, below.
