A Sophisticated, Bohemian Garden Wedding at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California
Crystal Chin and Jacob Schmidt’s wedding was the picture of bohemian elegance with garden-inspired florals, sophisticated furnishings and a nature-inspired color palette of cream, peach and green.
The couple looked to the beauty of nature for inspiration when planning their chic summer soiree, filling the day with lush ferns, lots of greenery, rustic wood accents and bold, colorful blooms. The flower-filled gardens and natural scenery surrounding the San Ysidro Ranch, which is currently under renovation after being affected by the California mudslides, made it the ideal backdrop for the intimate occasion.
The ceremony took place in the exclusive enclave’s lush lower garden, where guests were treated to breathtaking views of the Santa Ynez mountain range and the Pacific Ocean. Draped in cascading vines and fragrant florals, the dramatic wedding arch was designed to envelope the couple in nature and create a sense of unity with the surrounding landscape. Elegantly gilded settees and antique rugs lined the aisle, lending a sense of refinement to the otherwise organic setting.
Cocktail hour and the reception embodied a low-key vibe and were packed with personalized touches. Crystal and Jacob hired a traditional tampura player for cocktail hour, and a flamenco dancer performed during the reception. Lawn bowling kept guests entertained before dinner, which boasted a decadent feast of organic, vegan dishes.
A jam session ensued after the dishes were cleared away, and the couple gifted guests with meditation candles and rocks, as well as vegan chocolate.
