A Simply Natural Wedding at La Scala Italian Bistro in Dublin, Ohio
Colleen Failey, 29, a teacher, and Matt Petty, a biologist, were both in a wedding party and walked down the aisle together when they first met. They started dating and Matt proposed a few days before Christmas one year, decorating their apartment with a Christmas tree, white candles, and colored christmas lights that spelled out "Marry me?" The couple had their wedding ?ceremony at St. John the Baptist Catholic church in Columbus, Ohio, which Matt's family had a long history of attending, with their reception at La Scala Italian Bistro in Dublin, Ohio following shortly after. The couple wanted their wedding decorations to be simple yet elegant, and most importantly inspired by nature. "My color palette incorporated white, apricot, eucalyptus and jade green," says Colleen. "I chose this because I love those shades of green succulents." One of Colleen and Matt's favorite parts about their wedding was how they designed the seating chart for guests at the reception. Each table was identified by an animal, with a sign that Matt wrote about how the couple had observed each of them during their hiking adventures. To further incorporate nature into their wedding, the couple handed out evergreen saplings or a bag of wildflower seeds as wedding favors.
