A Simply Casual Wedding at Blarney Event Center in Toledo, Ohio

Kristen Low (28, a volunteer manager) and John Jenkinson (30, a project manager) met through a mutual friend the night their college basketball team won a huge game. They instantly hit it off that night, and soon after decided to maintain a long distance relationship, Kristen being from Indiana and John Ohio.) After dating for over three years, John asked Kristen’s sister for preferences when shopping for an engagement ring to propose with. The couple went hiking on Kristen’s favorite trail one afternoon, and as they were walking past a waterfall, John got down on one knee to ask for her hand in marriage. The couple had their wedding ceremony at a city park right around the corner from their house in Toledo, Ohio, where they loved to take walks. Views of the natural river surrounded guests where the ceremony took place, with curtains and dowel rods being the main decorations at the altar. The wedding attire was kept very casual, with bridesmaids in black lace dresses and groomsmen in gray suits with white shirts. The invitations were black with a beautiful flower motif and served as inspiration for the wedding color palette of peach and coral mixed with darker tones. The reception was held at Blarney Event Center in Toledo, a bar that at the time just opened an event space with rustic elements of brick, wood floor and industrial lighting. Dining tables were dressed in white and gray linens and decorated with peach carnations in glass containers.
