Eva and Jeff met at a mutual friends party, and by the end of the night held hands to keep each other warm on the porch swing. Eva went to visit him at his university the next week, and the couple has not looked back since. One night, Eva came back home to find the whole outside deck strung with lights and decorated with lit candles. There was a small table with a monkey dressed like Jeff would be, with a box in its lap. When Eva turned to face Jeff, he was down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage, and so the wedding planning began. The couple decided to have their wedding ceremony and reception at Windows on the River in Cleveland, Ohio not only because of the beautiful space surrounded by windows that would comfortably fit  their guests, but also the connecting outdoor patio that overlooked the city and skyline. Music was very important to the couple, mainly because Jeff was a musician. "Songs we chose for walking down the aisle, transitions and the first dance were special and unique to us as a couple," says Eva. It was the inspiration for their wedding favors, which were personalized CDs for each guest filled with the couple's special wedding songs and favorite love tunes.

Eva's engagement ring and a wedding ring were placed in the folds of her bouquet, which was an assortment of peonies, roses, anemones, baby's breath, astilbe and succulents.
