A Simple Wedding at Tarpon Lodge and Restaurant in Bokeelia, Florida
Amy Mayhugh (28 and a registered nurse) and Chase Mayhugh’s (30 and in real estate) waterfront wedding had a simple charm complete with all-white decor and grand white floral accents. “Simple, elegant and classy. That is how I envisioned our wedding,” says Amy. The day began with a sunset ceremony overlooking the water followed by a dance party and casual reception at Tarpon Lodge and Restaurant. Signature Florals helped Amy and Chase to highlight their nature setting with eye-catching arrangements of white hydrangeas, white delphiniums, greenery and white football mums within two bold charcoal gray urns; willow branches connected them to form a natural wedding arch at the head of the aisle. The same arrangement was later used as decor in their reception. Another standout detail was the couple’s personalized local welcome bags. Amy and Chase put their 112 guests first during the weekend celebration and placed a DIY basket in each room. “The welcome baskets had everything from local stores on the island, including mango chutney, coffee beans, ice cream gift certificates for two, tropical gummy bears and personal thank-you cards from us.” Impressions Photography was there to capture these wedding details and more below. For future couples, Amy shares a tip: “Enjoy your engagement and the wedding-planning process. My advice to anyone planning his or her wedding is not to get overwhelmed with wanting everything at your wedding -- especially if you are on a budget. Decide what is most important, necessary and the least important. Then, go from there.”
