A Simple Wedding at Casa Lantana in Brandon, Florida
Mary Kate, also known as MK, 25, and Jason, 30, knew soon after they met that they would marry, says MK. The couple wanted a wedding that was both timeless and traditional. They chose white, cream, silver and light pink as their wedding colors. MK and Jason used DIY invitations for their 65 guests made by MK's mother and calligraphy written by MK's aunt. As they are both morning people, the couple had an 11 a.m. wedding at the First Methodist Church in Brandon, Florida. Jason's parents were also married at this church, making it an easy choice, says MK. Their traditional ceremony was followed by a reception and appetizer hour at Casa Lantana in the same town. Guests enjoyed a brunch buffet of chicken, rice, eggs, omelets and bacon, as well as a a day of dancing. The couple's menu, decor and reception venue reflected them most, says MK. Not wanting to end the day with their family and friends, MK and Jason continued their wedding celebration outside of the estate. "We invited our guests back to our house after the reception for an afternoon for additional partying and relaxing," says MK. We made a point to spend as much time with our guests as we could. We have some amazing memories from that day."
