A Simple Wedding at Baton Rouge Art Gallery in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Amber Moreau (35 and a hearing specialist) and Josh Moreau (37 and an IT consultant) put a new twist on decor and had a minimalistic turquoise and champagne wedding that let their venue shine. “We chose the Baton Rouge Art Gallery because of its simplistic beauty and the affordability,” Amber says. Three vintage-style lanterns served as the backdrop for their sweet outdoor ceremony, as Amber’s junior bridesmaids added a pop of color to their day. Each wore a turquoise, knee-length dress from David’s Bridal with either a one-shoulder strap or a square neckline. Another spot of blue peaked out from under Amber's sleeveless V-neck wedding dress as ruche detailing covered the skirt. In keeping with the venue’s park view, she carried a soft, white rose, mauve garden rose and natural succulent bouquet down the aisle. After Amber and Josh said “I do,” their 100 guests went inside for a casual dinner surrounded by a high school art exhibition, and returned to the terrace for a night of dancing under the stars. “It was absolutely perfect," Amber says. Another detail that stood out was the couple’s wedding cake. Amber and Josh completed their simple wedding with a two-tier, all-white confection. A yellow and coral cake flower rested at the center as yellow accents popped from the cake. The couple added a personal touch to their day with a few pictures. "We had a photo of us and asked our guests to leave a message," she says. "We also took lots of photos and made sure to visit with everyone.” Amy Konieczka Photography captured these moments and a few more, below.
