A Simple Valentine's Day Wedding at Sweet Pete's in Jacksonville, Florida

With a red and white color scheme and a subtle nod to their Valentine’s Day date, Lauren Cowman (29 and works for a nonprofit) and Bryce Pfanenstiel’s (32 and an entrepreneur) simple wedding was nothing short of lovely. For a fun twist on the traditionally chocolate-filled day, Lauren and Bryce had a sweet indoor ceremony and a peony-accented reception at the newly opened Sweet Pete's candy shop in Jacksonville, Florida. “We are two unique people who threw away a life of ‘normal’ to pursue our individual dreams,” Lauren says. “This candy shop represented us perfectly -- creative, colorful dreamers who are obsessed with turning old things new.” Since red is far from Lauren's favorite color, the couple used the hue only to complement her bright rose and gerber daisy bouquet, as well as each floor-length bridesmaid dress from David’s Bridal. A rosette detail along the one-shoulder strap was beautifully accented with their white rose and hydrangea bouquets. After the ceremony, the couple and their wedding party donned fake red plastic lips and took a few photos with their photographer, KiKi Creates. Before they ended the night, Lauren, Bryce and their guests enjoyed a slice of red and white rosette-detailed wedding cake with a whimsical, personalized cartoon topper. Lauren shares a tip for future couples: “Overall, just enjoy each other and don't get wrapped up in the details. The most important part is love -- and making sure people are sitting at the right tables.”
