A Simple, Traditional Wedding at Hay-Adams Hotel in Washington, DC
Meghan Sullivan (32 and a lobbyist) and Patrick Belica (35 and an investment banker) were set up by Meghan's sister Briana and her husband, who is Patrick's best friend. For ages, Briana told Meghan that she knew just the guy for her, but Meghan didn't give it a second thought. One weekend, Briana invited Patrick over to their parents' house for a holiday, knowing Meghan would be there. The pair immediately hit it off and dated long distance for four years. Patrick proposed to Meghan while they were on a hiking trip in Montana. The couple had an elegant, romantic wedding in the heart of Washington, DC. "We wanted to keep the wedding style as traditional and simple as possible," says Meghan. The simplicity of their wedding complemented their stunning venues, which included the Dahlgren Chapel at Georgetown University for the ceremony and the rooftop terrace of Hay-Adams Hotel for the reception. "As far as decor, we didn't do anything beyond centerpieces because the view from the top of Hay-Adams is so spectacular," says the bride. Meghan and Patrick's wedding attire was classic: Patrick wore a traditional black tuxedo from Bonobos with a white rose boutonniere while Meghan looked beautiful in an A-line wedding dress by Ulla-Maija Couture, which had a detachable train for the ceremony. Guests at Meghan and Patrick's stunning and scenic wedding feasted on a fun, sprinkle covered wedding cake from Kendall's Cakes and danced the night away to melodious tunes by the Dream Team.
