A Simple Springtime Wedding at Historic Hostess House at Hancock Springs in Lampasas, Texas
The springtime Texas wedding of Morgan Butts (21 and a teacher) and Reese Vann (24 and a loan officer) totally reflected this sweet couple's style. The pair celebrated their marriage in two meaningful venues: Their ceremony took place in the First Baptist Church, with a reception following at the Historic Hostess House at Hancock Springs in Lampasas, Texas. “Reese has always wanted to get married in a church, and I couldn’t have pictured a more beautiful church to get married in,” Morgan says. “My favorite part about our reception was that it was also the location of our first date.” Event designers Joanna Langford and Katrina Kothmann helped the couple infuse their personal styles into the wedding with a simple, neutral color palette reflective of spring and details such as golden antlers, a glittered monogram and assortments of the bride’s favorite flowers, white roses and hydrangeas. Morgan and Reese boldly incorporated their Texas A&M University pride into their wedding day in several ways: “One of my favorite parts of the reception was when the DJ played the Aggie War Hymn, and every Aggie at the reception got in a circle to ‘Saw ’Em Off,’ ” Morgan says. Reese’s groom’s cake displayed the Aggie seal, and the couple gave each guest a customized 12th Man Towel as a wedding favor. “All in all, our wedding was magical,” Morgan says. “With Reese at my side, it was the fairy tale I’ve always prayed for.”
