A Simple Sophisticated Wedding at The Surf Club in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina

Canaan Dorian, 30, a sales professional and Trey Andrews, 29, an attorney lived down the street from one other on Wrightsville Beach for three years without ever meeting. Their paths finally crossed at a Halloween party that they both decided to attend at the last minute. At the end of the night, Trey asked for Canaan's phone number, but she was seeing someone at the time. Trey didn't give up easily and was finally able to get her number from a friend. Intrigued by his persistence, Canaan decided to give things a shot. Five years later, the two said "I do" in a seaside ceremony right around the corner from where it all started. An outdoor ceremony along the dunes of Wrightsville Beach, offering panoramic views of the Atlantic, was followed by a laid-back reception with a mix of modern and southern flair. A neutral palette of soft gray, white, silver and pops of pink and green felt sophisticated and elegant, complementing the venue's airy, tranquil vibe. Food stations and a menu that included a few southern favorites, a live band and plenty of dancing made for an upbeat atmosphere that encouraged socializing and spoke to the couple's love of entertaining. There were even a few surprises thrown into the mix, like a performance by Canaan's father, who wrote a song especially for the newlyweds and when the bridesmaids performed a rendition of "Hold On" by Wilson Phillips for Canaan.
