A Simple, Shabby Chic Wedding at Exploration Place in Wichita, Kansas

Abby Briggs (22 and a teacher) and Will Briggs (24 and an engineer) wanted their wedding to reflect their personalities: simple and easy. They used a neutral black, white and gray color palette with rustic details such as the baby’s breath floral arrangements from Magnolia Floral Studio. Everything from the bouquets to the boutonnieres to the aisle decor to the centerpieces were covered in baby’s breath with white rose accents. Abby made all of the classic black-and-white stationery herself at the local FedEx Office store. Abby and Will chose Exploration Place for their nuptials for its gorgeous architecture, large windows, high ceilings and view of the river and downtown Wichita. Abby wore a simple strapless ball gown with a crystal belt for a little glamorous flair. The adorable ring bearer might have had the cutest ensemble, though, with his shabby chic black-and-white bow tie and gray suspenders. For cocktail hour, Abby and Will served a popcorn bar with everything from traditional popcorn to cheddar popcorn to chocolate caramel popcorn. Although Abby and Will had a traditional three-tier white buttercream cake, they also had a Oreo tower that was stacked to look like a three-tier round cake!
