A Simple, Rustic Wedding at Rone Exhibit Hall in Portageville, Missouri

Rebecca Rone (31 and a biological engineer) and Paul McCrate (33 and a surveyor) used their colorful wildflower-inspired flowers to set the tone for the entire wedding theme, from the pretty pink bridesmaid dresses to the eclectic centerpieces. “Through the years, Paul would always stop to pick wildflowers for me,” Rebecca says. “We wanted the wedding flowers to resemble the ones he picked, and Tis the Season knocked it out of the park.” Wanting their venue to match their rustic wildflower theme, the couple chose Rebecca’s hometown of Portageville, Missouri, because Paul also has extended family in the area. Being so family oriented, they knew they needed a large venue to accommodate their 500 guests. The day started at St. Eustachius Catholic Church for a traditional ceremony and ended at Rone Exhibit Hall for a laid-back, hometown reception. Wendy Cooper from Something Blue Photography beautifully captured all the details of the day, and was one of Rebecca and Paul’s favorite wedding pros. “Something Blue Photography by Wendy Cooper was able to capture every moment of the day in such a beautiful way,” Rebecca says. “We were thrilled with her work.” One of our favorite parts was the delicious menu. Since everyone at the wedding was family (or close enough to be family), the couple served a family-style meal of ribs from Pat Irons Catering. And don’t even get us started on the five-tier ivory and copper buttercream cake. Yum!
