A Simple Rustic Wedding at Mount Gulian Historic Site in Beacon, New York
Alexandra Sammartino (28 and a physical therapist) and Kevin Sammartino’s (28 and a electrical engineer) rustic wedding was filled with simple pink and neutral accents, as well as personal details -- from the lines of DIY burlap and lace runners to her silk bouquet filled with childhood keepsakes. B Hull Photography was there to capture every moment of the day, which started with a rainy tented ceremony and moved to a fun barn reception at Mount Gulian Historic Site in Beacon, New York. Lavender and Leaf Designs accented the couple’s yards upon yards of string lighting with simple floral centerpieces in wooden breakaway vases. Each all-white arrangement was filled with hydrangeas, chrysanthemums and baby’s breath as orange and pink roses added a pop of color. Clear-glass mason jars filled with orange roses, orange delphiniums and greenery were used as accents. For a personal touch, Lexi complemented her all-lace Maggie Sottero wedding dress with a silk bouquet made by her mother. “She added my grandfather’s hankie [he passed away four days after we got engaged], a bonnet from my christening, a rosary from my first communion and a bunch of antique brooches.” Another standout detail was the couple’s wedding cake. Homestyle Desserts Bakery baked a four-tier white confection accented with a burlap-and-lace trim along each tier, as well as orange, white and pink roses. Each of the couple’s 115 guests was treated to a piece before all ended the night on the dance floor.
