A Simple, Rustic Wedding at Moulin Events in St. Louis, Missouri
Cara Forsberg (28 and a research scientist) and Kevin Forsberg (27 and a research scientist) met in graduate school at Washington University in St. Louis. Kevin proposed where they had their first kiss before taking Cara to dinner. The couple wanted a wedding venue where they could have both their ceremony and reception and easily chose Moulin Events. “We fell in love with Moulin Events, and old 1800s brick brewery turned into a gorgeous event space,” Cara says. “Hardwood floors, floor-to-ceiling brick, fantastic natural light, in short, our perfect venue.” Inspired by the rustic location, they added wildflower, mason jar and wood details throughout the reception. Although the color palette was mostly neutral, they added pops of purple (inspired by her purple suede Coach shoes) and yellow. However, they loved all of the character in their venue and the surrounding neighborhood, so they kept the decor to a minimum. Cara and Kevin worked with Botanicals Design Studio to create the garden-inspired floral arrangements, and Sweet Art created the rustic, textured-buttercream wedding cake. At the end of the night, the couple sent guests home with flavored salts from Spice Merchant.
