A Simple, Rustic Wedding at Buehler's Idlewild Inn in Paupack, Pennsylvania

After vacationing there for many years with her family, Lauren Kurinskas (30 and a production manager) fell in love with the relaxed atmosphere at Buehler's Idlewild Inn in Paupack, Pennsylvania. When it was time to marry the love of her life, Michael Kelly (31 and a welding fabricator), they both knew the inn was the perfect place for them to personalize their wedding day using simple, DIY decor with pops of blue and pink colors. "It was a lot of work to coordinate, but worth having such a personalized day that we worked to put together," Lauren says. Two Sticks Studios captured the intimate wedding day with all its DIY touches playing on the inn's natural rustic setting. Opting for a relaxed yet formal style, Lauren wore an Allure Bridals champagne lace wedding dress while Michael wore a gray suit with a polka-dot tie. When it came to designing their wedding, Lauren and Michael knew they wanted the entire day to be outdoors. "Incorporating nature and hosting the event outdoors was an important part of our planning," Lauren says. Their tented reception was inspired by a garden-party look with dining tables dressed in white tablecloths with centerpieces of pink and white carnations, hydrangeas and stock created by their florist, Cathy's Flower Cottage. Unfortunately, because of the August wedding date, peonies (Lauren's favorite flowers) were unavailable. Instead they used the very similar, and equally beautiful, garden roses for the bridal party's bouquets. In the end, Lauren and Michael were thrilled that they were able to create a loving, fun day for all their guests. "Giving our family a happy day to celebrate love and our union was a real joy," Lauren says.
