A Simple, Romantic Wedding at Tennessee RiverPlace in Chattanooga, Tennessee
Molly Martin (20 and a law student) and Nathan Simbeck (21 and a football coach and kinesiology student) met at church when they were just teenagers, but it was a while before the two actually got together. "There was undeniable chemistry between us, but we were always dating other people. We became close friends for a couple years then drifted apart," says Molly. When they finally reconnected, they started dating almost immediately. After almost a year-and-a-half together, Nathan was in a serious head-on collision and it was unclear at one point whether he would live. Nathan spent 70 days in the hospital, during which Molly stuck by his side, before being released and starting a yearlong recovery process. "It was an extremely difficult time for both of us, but we knew then that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together," says Molly. "Going through something so traumatic makes you realize what's important, and for us, it was each other." Seventh months after the accident, Nathan popped the question at their church in front of all their closet family members and friends.Tennessee RiverPlace was the perfect spot for Molly and Nathan's "I do's." The couple, who wanted an outdoor affair, fell in the love with the venue immediately. "Its simplicity and natural beauty were exactly what we wanted for our wedding," says Molly. "We were so happy with the way everything came together and complemented the natural beauty of the river, fields, and mountains." The couple chose an understated, yet timeless palette of white, gold and blush and kept the decor to a minimum, keeping the focus on the natural setting. Crisp white linens topped the reception tables, with bunches of fresh ivory blooms and silver lanterns adding a decorative touch.
