A Simple, Romantic Wedding at Old Daley Inn at Crooked Lake in Averill Park, New York
Eileen Fitzgibbons (30 and a personal trainer) and Patrick Boyle (32 and a graduate student) met a local bar after being set up by friends. Eileen jokingly mentioned to one of her friends that she was looking for a "tall, funny, Irish guy" and her friend brought along Patrick! Years later, Patrick and Eileen were out to dinner in downtown Buffalo and were eating at a restaurant across from the first apartment they lived in together. Out of curiusity, Patrick and Eileen wanted to go back to their old apartment and see how it looked now. As they walked around the apartment together, they started to reminisce on all the memories they shared there. When they walked into the living room, Eileen was surprised to see a dozen roses and a card in the center of the room. She realized the card was addressed to her and she began to read the romantic letter Patrick had written her. When she turned around, Patrick was down on one knee. They chose to get married at the Old Daley Inn at Crooked Lake in Averill Park, NY. "We wanted a venue with some history and a place that meant something to us," Eileen says. Both of their parents had gone to that venue for after prom parties, dinners and dancing in the 1960s. "We wanted a very organic, simple color palette and wanted everything to feel very romantic and soft," Eileen says. They chose a sherbet-inspired color palette with shades of pink, orange and green. Garden roses, hydrangeas, dahlias and hypericum berries created the flower arrangements. For centerpieces, they used mismatched, mercury vases and votive candles. "We can honestly say that our day was perfect," Eileen says. Eileen and Patrick were sure to stay true to themselves when planning their special day.
