A Simple Purple Wedding at Vesuvius Vineyards in Iron Station, North Carolina

Inspired by the white wraparound porches and five acres of vineyards at Vesuvius Vineyards in Iron Station, North Carolina, Jeannie Patterson (28 and a nurse) and Troy Smith (28 and in the US National Guard) had a gorgeous Southern soiree. Shades of purple, yellow and white colored all the details in honor of their late-summer date, and mason jar glassware, program fans and little lanterns brought the theme to life. The on-palette florals included dark purple calla lilies, lavender roses, yellow ranunculus and white orchids, beautifully arranged by Willow Branch Flowers and Design. Since Troy is an active member of the US military, the couple added in some traditional touches, such as all the men in their formal uniforms and an arch-of-swords reception entrance. Willow Branch Flowers and Design created this gorgeous lavender rose, purple calla lily and white orchid bouquet for Jeannie to carry down the aisle. She loved how it matched the wedding's yellow and purple colors and added a pop of white to go with her bridal look.
Jeannie wanted her look to be classic, chic and a little vintage. She fell in love with this trumpet-style dress the moment she tried it on. The timeless lace detailing and romantic buttons down the back definitely sealed the deal.
The bridesmaids carried yellow ranunculus, white roses, lavender roses and purple anemones in their small, round bouquets. Jeannie loved how their flowers looked next to her orchid, calla lily and rose arrangement.
Jeannie and Troy turned their programs into fans for the outdoor ceremony in the summer. The subtle, elegant printed paper set the tone, while the purple typography fit the white, purple and yellow color scheme.
Jeannie and Troy exchanged vows in the yard of Vesuvius Vineyards before their reception on the front porch. Although it started to rain right before their ceremony was supposed to start, Troy decided if the weather was good enough for a football game, it was good enough for a wedding. As soon and Jeannie walked down the aisle, the rain stopped.
Jeannie and Troy had an arch-of-swords entrance at their wedding reception. The men, dressed in their Air Force uniforms, held sabers in an arch. When the newlyweds reached each set, the men lowered them. The couple then had to kiss for them to be relifted so they could walk through.
Jeannie and Troy had their reception on the porch of Vesuvius Vineyards in Iron Station, North Carolina. They loved the feel of the white wraparound deck for their Southern soiree. They decorated the tables with textured white linens, purple linen napkins and lantern centerpieces.
Jeannie and Troy kept the decor simple to fit the gorgeously rustic Vesuvius Vineyards in Iron Station, North Carolina. The centerpieces included little white lanterns filled with white pillar candles. The couple loved the way each of the decorations reflected light around the covered porch for plenty of Southern romance.
Instead of a traditional cake, Jeannie and Troy served a several flavors of cupcakes. The little confections were displayed in metallic silver cupcake papers on a tower at the reception.
Jeannie loved the timeless look of her all-lace dress. Her favorite part, though, was the buttons down the back and the keyhole design. She wore her hair in a loose updo to show off the stunning detailing.
