A Simple Peacock-Inspired Wedding at Cabrillo College in Aptos, California
With a beautiful historic campus and a fabulous culinary program at Cabrillo College in Aptos, California, this convenient one-stop location was perfect for this simple wedding. “One of the reasons we chose this place was because of Greg's parents, who taught music and drama at Cabrillo College for almost 30 years,” Madison Adkins (24 and a ballet teacher) says of her marriage to Gregory Atkins (29 and a US Army Reserve officer). The peacock-inspired color palette of purple, teal, gray and a touch of pink was embodied within the wedding-party attire—teal knee-length bridesmaid dresses and gray groomsmen suits—with pops of purple and pink represented in the bouquets held by the girls, captured on camera by Brooke Ellen Photography. The ceremony took place outside on the steps of the pagoda terrace, where the couple walked down the aisle lined with small wildflower arrangements in mason jars, arranged by Delford West Flowers and Gifts. Inside the Sesnon House, dining tables were dressed in purple and gray linens and set with dinnerware lined in silver. This celebratory occasion couldn’t have been complete without the personalized glassware given to guests as favors to say thank-you, which we would have loved to take home ourselves.
