A Simple Orange and Blue Wedding at Merriman's Kapalua Restaurant in Maui, Hawaii
Jill Arnold (30 and a television camera operator) and Dan Ackerman (31 and a television editor) met while they were working on the set of CBS’s “Big Brother” series. They met in the break room during their usual shifts, and started to date while filming season 12 of the show. While they were filming season 13 the following summer, Jill decided to take a day off. She noticed how strange it was that Dan was up early and getting ready, since he wasn’t usually a morning person. They were watching TV together when Dan suddenly turned it off, proposed to Jill and announced they were going to Vegas to celebrate that night! “We flew to Las Vegas, stayed at the Bellagio and had a great engagement dinner,” says Jill. “The owner at Rao's comped a glass of prosecco for us and told Dan, "You know you are the lucky one right?"” A year and a half later, the couple got married at Merriman’s Kapalua Restaurant, located right near the Kanapali Golf Course in Maui, Hawaii. They recited their ceremonial vows on the cliff side of the venue, overlooking the surrounding waters. With a color palette of blue, orange and yellow, the couple decorated the reception dining room to create the theme that their aunt put best, “classic Hollywood meets Hawaii.” The simple, natural-looking d?cor complimented the surrounding scenery, leaving so many people in awe by the end of the celebratory day.
