A Simple Ombre Wedding at Hui No'eau Visual Arts Center in Maui, Hawaii
Cherri Marinas (28, an architectural designer) and Antonio Bale Jr. (27, a skills trainer) met while they were both working at a restaurant. They didn’t get to talk while working since Cherri was a hostess and Antonio was a busser, but they got to know each other when they would hang out. While the couple was visiting New York, they took a horse and carriage ride from Rockefeller Center. When the ride was finished, they got dropped off where the ride started and Antonio got down on one knee to propose. Cherri and Antonio lived on the island of Oahu in Hawaii, but decided to get married in the town of Makawao on the island of Maui where Cherri was born and raised. Their reception took place at Hui Noeau Visual Arts Center, where the couple fell in love with the lush green landscape with plentiful vegetation and the Mediterranean-styled estate that served as a beautiful backdrop. The bridesmaids wore dresses according to the ombre color palette ranged from red, purple and pinks, and the groomsmen wore socks that matched with their wedding party partner. Under the white-tented reception, table linens in the front were lilac and stretched to a darker purple all the way in the back. Even the towering wedding cake had an ombre style to it, with tiers that went from peach to pink and red.
