A Simple Mountain Wedding at DoubleTree Breckenridge in Breckenridge, Colorado

Michelle Santos (28 and an IT recruiter) and Mike Radice (29 and also an IT recruiter) met at a Blink 182 concert in high school. About 10 years later, while living in different cities at the time, they decided to seriously date. For the proposal, Mike took Michelle to Breckenridge for their first vacation alone. “He proposed the first night we were there, where I said, ‘Yes’ before even looking at the ring," Michelle says. "Our last night of our getaway in the mountains ended with me giving Mike the puppy-dog eyes and asking, ‘Can we get married here?’” And they did. Michelle and Mike chose St. Mary’s Church for their traditional Catholic ceremony in Breckenridge, Colorado. They loved how quaint and whimsical it was. Afterwards, they went to DoubleTree Hilton for their reception. The couple used shades of purple, orange and white for their color palette to add a pop of fun, vibrant color to their mountain wedding. The escort cards were concert ticket-themed to commemorate their first encounter. With only 75 guests, the couple was able to feel like they had quality time for every guest who made it to their wedding. “Like every wedding, there are bits and pieces that make us laugh when we remember them,” Michelle says. “One of our adorable flower girls bailed at the last minute, one of my sister’s tripped into the ceremony and blessed the church with a four letter word and I promised Mike infidelity instead of repeating ‘and fidelity.’”

Michelle carried orange roses, pink peonies and plum carnations in her wildflower-inspired bouquet.
The bridesmaids wore purple chiffon floor-length dresses to match the wedding colors.
The groomsmen wore gray Vera Wang suits from Men’s Wearhouse with purple ties to match the bridesmaid dresses. The groom wore a white tie to match the bride.

The concert tickets were made to look like concert tickets to commemorate the concert where they first met and the table numbers were cities the couple has traveled to rather than numbers.
The couple kept their intimate reception simple with small white and orange centerpieces and white linens.
The couple named their reception tables after cities they have visited instead of traditional numbers. They used a photo of themselves in each city for a more personalized feel.
“Our wedding cake was prepared by Shamane’s Cakes,” Michelle says. “The top two tiers were coconut cream and the bottom layer was a light berry-citrus mix. We can attest that both layers were delicious, as we consumed the leftovers at the end of the reception in our room.”
