A Simple Ivory Wedding at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens in Charleston, South Carolina
Wanting to find the perfect balance between a traditional wedding and an elopement, Deanna Lloyd (25 and a pharmacy technician) and Tim Knudsen (28 and a field service representative) kept their nuptials simple and intimate. Magnolia Plantation and Gardens in Charleston, South Carolina, set the tone for the day with its towering trees, lush gardens and even the Ashley River, which ran through the location. “We chose Charleston because it has always been a dream of mine to get married there and, luckily, it was in the middle of where most of our family members are,” Deanna says. “I knew as soon as we went to visit the plantation that it was where I wanted to get married. The Magnolia Plantation and Gardens is just breathtaking.” A soft blush and ivory color palette added a little romance throughout the details, and the stunning florals perfectly enhanced the garden venue. We love that Deanna and Tim used the flowers from the ceremony to decorate the family-style reception table too. With only 19 guests, the couple loved being able to talk and feel like they spent quality time with everyone who came. “We are both simple people, and we enjoy just having fun with friends and family when we can,” Deanna says. “We kept it so simple that it actually had me thinking it was going to be the most boring wedding ever, but it turned out to be exactly the opposite.” There are so many details we love.
