A Simple, Intimate Wedding at Rockledge Mansion in Occoquan, Virginia

Carly Shoupe (29 and a nonprofit employee) and Harry Tapp (25 and a retail employee) were married at the Rockledge Mansion in Occoquan, Virginia, and their wedding was perfectly captured by Brenda Murphy Photography. Since they met through their ghost-hunting group, they loved the fact that the mansion was rumored to be haunted; as favors they gave their guests skeleton keys as a nod to this hobby. Another theme they incorporated into their celebration was Star Wars. During the ceremony, Carly and Harry's officiant gave a sermon that integrated famous lines from the series, which were also engraved on their wedding bands. Afterward, the newlyweds had a light-saber salute for their entrance to the reception. Carly and Harry kept their decor simple, with a color scheme of wine red and silver. Their wedding attire was also traditional, with Carly in an A-line David's Bridal wedding dress and a wine red sash and Harry in a black tuxedo and a wine red tie from Men's Wearhouse. "It's hard to pick my favorite part of the wedding, because we loved it all," Carly says. "I look back and feel like the entire day was exactly what we wanted and needed."
