A Simple Garden Wedding at Hampton Cove Wedding Plantation in Gurley, Alabama

This garden wedding could not have been sweeter. Kailey Landrum (20 and a fifth-grade teacher) and Justin Benson (21 and an electronics technician) with an outdoor ceremony at Hampton Cove Wedding Plantation in Gurley, Alabama, that was set up and designed by their friends. Borrowed vintage lanterns surrounded by magnolia leaves and Jackson vine from a friend's backyard lined the aisle as pink flower petals separated each arrangement. Every accent highlighted the venue's natural beauty. Justin waited by a metal arbor topped with greenery, as their bridesmaids started the procession in blush Mori Lee dresses. Kailey’s entrance stood out against their decor. She wore a mermaid-style wedding dress, also by Mori Lee, covered in lace detailing and accented with delicate beading along the straps. She carried a pink peony and white rose bouquet that popped against the dress with a hint of color. Mandy Owens Photography captured every moment as Kailey and Justin exchanged vows and shared a few personal moments. “Our pastor had us each write a paragraph about why we love each other, and we got to hear them for the first time at the ceremony,” she says. By the end, everyone had shed a few tears. Afterward, the celebration continued with a reception in the hay barn. Each table was lined with burlap and accented with candlelit lanterns as guests enjoyed a buffet dinner, brownie bar and three-tier white wedding cake. “The mother-daughter team who owns and operates the plantation helped make every detail perfect,” Kailey says. The venue owner’s son served as their DJ and made sure everyone finished the night with a dance before taking a sparkler exit. “Our wedding was absolutely perfect,” Kailey says. “It was a big party, and we loved being surrounded by friends and family.”
