A Simple, Elegant Wedding at Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg, Virginia

Ashley (30 and in marketing) and Steven (30 and in finance) wanted to incorporate as much white in their wedding as possible. "Weddings are one of the few times that white is acceptable for events, so we wanted to use it as much as we could," Ashley says. They accented their white details with sage green, creating a soft palette that perfectly suited their garden venue at Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg, Virginia. All the flower arrangements at the wedding were white, from Ashley's hydrangea, baby's breath and dusty miller bouquet to the mason jar centerpieces with sage ribbon and baby's breath. Ashley's maid of honor wore a sage green dress and Steven and his best man wore sage ties with their gray suits. Ashley herself wore a beautiful ivory lace dress, which she paired with a fingertip-length veil for the ceremony. The couple had a unity-candle ceremony at their garden nuptials, which took place on the plantation's manicured grounds. The tented reception was illuminated by string lights and a crystal chandelier that hung directly above the dance floor. Ashley and Steven gave their guests small bottles of prosecco that doubled as the escort cards and treated them to mini mason jar pies for dessert—yum! As if that wasn't enough food, the couple also hired White Castle's Crave Mobile for a late-night snack as a nod to Ashley's home state, New Jersey. Lovesome Photography captured the day.
