A Simple, Elegant Wedding at Flying Cloud Farm in Petaluma, California
Megan Coble (25, a media relations specialist) and Chris Haggarty (24, a freelance cinematographer) played in the same band together while they were in high school. However, it wasn’t until they worked at the same local campsite that they got to know each other and started to date. Chris planned a 1920s murder mystery themed game at a friend’s house one night, so the guys dressed up in suits and the girls wore flapper dresses. At the end of the game, Chris revealed he had picked Megan to be the murder and was surprisingly rewarded for her crime as Chris down on one knee with an engagement ring. Chris proposed with a family heirloom with a diamond that was over 100 years old in a new setting for Megan. The couple had their traditional wedding ceremony at Penngrove Community Church in Penngrove, California, where a sign decorated with baby's breath greeted guests to "pick a seat and not a side." The simple and elegant reception was held at California Flying Cloud Farm, where the property overlooked the valleys and vineyards in Petaluma, California. The color palette of olive green, black and white was inspired by baby’s breath, which Megan felt had overlooked beauty that was and wanted it to be highlighted throughout their wedding day. Megan held a full bouquet of ivory roses and baby's breath down the aisle, which matched the groom's single rose boutonniere wrapped with baby's breath. Reception table centerpieces were decorated with baby's breath as well, mixed in with an assortment of ivory hydrangeas and roses.
