A Simple Destination Wedding Surrounded by Nature at Silvermist Mountain Lodge in Cape Town, South Africa

After booking a vacation to South Africa, Kerrilin Glenister (27 and a teacher) and Alex Anderton (26 and a design engineer) decided to combine their trip with an intimate, simple elopement that let the natural landscape do the talking. “It took a few weeks and would not have been possible without the unconditional love and support from our families,” Kerrilin says. The couple had their ceremony with just two guests in attendance at the Silvermist Mountain Lodge property in Cape Town, South Africa, where vows were spoken on the terrace with a backdrop of mountains and vineyards in Constantia Valley, captured by Christine W Photography. The color palette was made up of a blush combined with a copper earth tone that achieved a balance of femininity and masculinity, which was reflected within Kerrilin's rose gold and pink emerald engagement ring designed by Montivagant. Kerrilin wore a blush wedding dress custom-made by her sister, which had a sweetheart illusion neckline made of lace on the front and back of the bodice. Alex matched Kerrilin's look with a blush tie worn with a gray vest-and-pants combination. Although most of the flowers were simple and white, Kerrilin's bouquet was a single yellow protea with purple tips that made a statement against her blush apparel. Our favorite part was the time shared after the elopement ceremony: an intimate picnic on a low wooden table decorated with candles, flower arrangements and a naked cake filled with white chocolate ganache and caramel. "We both enjoy simple pleasures. we wanted our day to be relaxing, intimate and personal," Kerrilin says. "Focus on each other and breathe it all in."
